Hoffman, Wachtell & Rao’s workers’ compensation practice includes New York State workers’ compensation claims, New York State disability claims and discrimination claims arising under the Workers’ Compensation Law as well as claims arising out of the line-of-duty activities of volunteer firefighters and volunteer ambulance workers.
We also assist the families of deceased workers whose work activities or exposures caused or contributed to their deaths. Our dedicated staff maintains close contact with our clients. In all workers’ compensation cases, the client does not pay an attorney fee unless the client receives benefits. The fees are set by the Workers’ Compensation Board and are paid to the firm directly by the insurance company.
We are full-service law firm. We know that you may be entitled to other benefits as a result of your work-related injury such as Social Security disability benefits, private disability insurance and the possibility of suing a negligent party other than your employer. These benefits are often available in addition to your workers’ compensation benefits. We will help you sort through these possibilities.
